Top Five Questions from the 2014 FRSA Expo

Roof-A-Cide was pleased to participate in our 10th year at the Florida Roofing and Sheet Metal Expo. The FRSA put on a very nice event and have once again demonstrated why they are an invaluable resource for Florida Roofing Contractors. It was our busiest year yet and we’d like to thank the Roofing Pros & Industry Vendors that came by our booth on Friday & Saturday to learn more about what we’re doing to Revolutionize the way Roof Cleaning & Maintenance is done and why Roof-A-Cide is the name that Contractors and Communities can Trust and Rely on.

From Roofing Contractors to Roofing Manufacturers, we’re working with some of the industry’s best to elevate the level of service and commitment to quality that customers should expect when it comes to the roofs that protect their homes and businesses.

Manufacturers are producing better roofing materials every year that are designed to be more durable and last longer - but they only work well if they’re installed by qualified Contractors with the knowledge and attention to detail needed to install them correctly. And they won’t last anywhere near as long as they’re designed to unless they’re properly maintained.  The Contractors we work with understand this and that’s why they use Roof-A-Cide and regularly scheduled Roof Maintenance to maximize the performance, value, and life expectancy of the roof.

So we had a lot of good questions and here are the Top Five:
  1. Does Roof-A-Cide Immediately Clean the Roof like Chlorine Bleach
    No.
Roof-A-Cide is an EPA Approved algaecide that works best as a PREVENTATIVE. While it will clean a roof over time, we recommend it be applied to a clean roof. If the roof needs to be cleaned first, we have a number of ways to get this done including our Roof Restore™.
  2. Is it Expensive for the Customer?
    No.
Contractors determine their own pricing, but the Roof-A-Cide application generally doesn't cost a customer any more than traditional Roof Cleaning – but it last much longer.
  3. What Equipment Do We Need?
Any professional spraying system will work, but we have created a spec for what we recommend as the most efficient and durable setups. You can see them on the Equipment page of our website.
  4. Do You Offer Training and Support?
    Yes.
Quality Control is critical to what we do because we guarantee every roof that’s treated with Roof-A-Cide. So every Company that works with us is fully trained on how to use the equipment and our products. In addition, we offer a full range of sales & marketing support to help them identify target markets and explain what we do and how it benefits the Customer.
  5. Do You Offer Protected Territories?
    Yes.
Roof-A-Cide products are not available to the general public or Independent Contractors. They are only available through our network of Authorized Applicators and each one has a primary area that they focus on. These areas are not Exclusive but they are Protected in that we limit the number of Applicators that we establish in any given area depending on the number of homes in that area.

If you're considering offering Roof Cleaning & Stain Prevention as part of an overall Maintenance Program, take advantage of these free resources that will help you evaluate the potential for your business:
  1. Creating a Well-Rounded Maintenance Program - an explanation of the options and benefits of different aspects of a Maintenance Program.
  2. Maintenance Program Analysis - Once you've crafted an outline of your program, this tool will help you gauge your Customers' perception & Price Points.
  3. 5-Year Cash Flow Projection - Using the info from the Maintenance Program Analysis, this spreadsheet will help you easily quantify the expected results at various levels of activity.
To receive all three of these valuable tools, just follow this link, fill out some basic info and we'll email it to you.

For additional information on what we do, how we do it, and how it can benefit your company, please feel free to visit our website, blogs, & follow us on LinkedIn, Google+, Twitter, or YouTube. We also hold regularly scheduled Demo Days and invite you to come see everything in action. And if you have specific questions or would like to discuss this opportunity, please feel free to email us at Info@Roof-A-Cide.com or call 800-806-6727 ext 8.

Most Florida Roofers are Missing the Forest for the Trees

If you’re a Roofing Contractor in Florida, you've probably noticed some of your colleagues starting to offer Roof Cleaning on a very limited basis and usually just individual homes.

But most of the 65,000 Homeowner, Property Owner, and Condo Communities in Florida have mandated for years that roofs be kept clean (the same way that they mandate that paint be maintained and lawns and bushes are trimmed). This represents a great opportunity for Roofing Companies that most are still missing. And this is especially true in the Jacksonville, Naples, Orlando, Tampa, and West Palm Beach markets.

Why are Roofing Companies not capitalizing on these markets?

Most of the Roofing Companies that offer Roof Cleaning can’t do it very profitably because they approach Roof Cleaning in the same way that most small Pressure Cleaning Contractors do – which is very labor intensive and time consuming. And since Roofing Contractors usually have higher labor costs and much more overhead to cover, they generally have to charge a much higher rate than a small Pressure Cleaning company and they really can’t be cost-competitive.

So while they are getting a few jobs here and there from customers willing to pay a premium, most Roofing Contractors are missing the larger opportunities, especially in the HOA/POA markets, because they can't be cost effective.

Would you like help to tap into the HOA, POA, and Condo Markets?

At the FRSA Expo, we are looking to talk with Roofing Companies that want to learn how to tap in to the HOA, POA, and Condo Markets – and do it Profitably

The Safety of Roof-A-Cide®, Approvals from Roofing Manufacturers, Proven Track Record, Our Training Program, Our Guarantee, and Most Importantly Our Cost-Effectiveness – are ALL unmatched in the industry and this is why Roof-A-Cide is The Industry Leader and a natural addition to a well-rounded Roof Maintenance Program. You can’t be cost-competitive if your crews are spending 3-4 hours on a roof when these roofs can be done in 25-30 minutes. And why settle for 50-60 customers each year when you can do that in One Day?

For far too long, Roof Cleaning has been left to contractors that are not licensed, insured, or qualified to do the work properly. And drenching the roofs with toxic, high-strength pool chlorine has become the method of choice for these contractors - causing damage that goes unnoticed for YEARS.

We see this changing. Not because the price of Roof Cleaning will go up dramatically, but because Homeowners and Property Managers are becoming more educated to the fact that the way we do it is so much safer, more efficient and more cost-effective. And Roofing Companies are starting to realize that Preventing Roof Stains with Roof-A-Cide® and eliminating the need for Roof Cleaning is going to be MUCH more profitable than roof cleaning will EVER be.

Things to Consider:
  • This is Not a New Market – There are roughly 65,000 HOA & Condo Communities in Florida and most of these communities are already paying to have the Roof Cleaned on a regular basis.
  • Many of these Homeowners and Communities are likely Your Customers.
  • It’s relatively easy to calculate the estimated revenues you could generate by converting 10-15% of your Customers into recurring Customers.

When Roofing Companies offer Roof-A-Cide®, they can be cost-competitive, very profitable, and offer Communities a better choice than what they have right now – and these Roofing Companies then become the only sensible choice for the Customer.

Homeowners, HOA & Condo Associations, and Apartment Complexes in Florida are spending $Millions each year maintaining their roofs. We can help and very few products can tie into what you’re already doing as well and as easily as Roof-A-Cide®.

A More Cost Effective Approach to Roof Cleaning - 80-90% Reduction in Labor

The Roof-A-Cide Team had an opportunity last month to participate in the FRSA Convention. We were happy to talk with the many Roofing Professionals that are now starting to understand how important Roof Cleaning is to their customers and how important it is for their companies to offer this service. But the question most have is how to offer it Cost-effectively for their Customers and still do it Profitably.

If you are a Roofing Contractor in Florida, you might have noticed some of your colleagues starting to offer Roof Cleaning. But most of the companies that have gotten into this service have problems because they are approaching Roof Cleaning in the same way that most small Pressure Cleaning Contractors do – which is very labor intense and time consuming. And since the Roofing Contractor usually has higher labor costs and much more overhead to cover, they generally have to charge a much higher rate than the 1-man Pressure Cleaning company and they really can’t be cost-competitive. So while they are getting a few jobs here and there from customers willing to pay a premium, they are missing the larger opportunities, especially in the HOA/POA markets because they are not cost effective.

Our presentation at the FRSA Show generated a lot of interest from Roofing Companies wanting to learn how to establish a Profitable Roof Cleaning operation. They were very interested in the Safety of Roof-A-Cide, Approvals from Roofing Manufacturers, Proven Track Record, Our Training Program, Our Guarantee, and Most Importantly Our Cost-Effectiveness – ALL of which are unmatched in the industry and why Roof-A-Cide is The Industry Leader. Why have crews spending 3-4 hours on a roof, when they can spend 25-30 minutes? Why settle for 50-60 customers each year when you can do that in a day?

The Opportunity in the HOA / POA Market:
For far too long, Homeowners Associations and Communities here in Florida have mandated Roof Cleaning – while most Roofing Professionals were not offering it because they could not see how profitable it really could be. As a result, it has too often been left to contractors that are not licensed, not insured, not trained, and not qualified to do the work properly. We expect to see this changing in the near future. Not because the price of Roof Cleaning will go up dramatically, but because the way we do it is so much more efficient and cost-effective. Soon, many more Companies will realize that Preventing Roof Stains with Roof-A-Cide is going to be MUCH more profitable for them than roof cleaning will ever be.

With this new insight into their customers’ needs and an understanding of the benefits of Roof-A-Cide, we hope to see many of these companies join the other Roofing, Construction, and Property Maintenance Professionals that offer their customers Roof-A-Cide because it’s a much safer, more cost-effective, and More Profitable approach to properly maintaining a roof!
